Visit the largest lake on the Balkans Peninsula, world-wide known for its flora and fauna uniqueness and its cultural and historical legacy.
Skadar Lake National Park is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful national parks and one of the trademarks of Montenegro. The Montenegrin part of the lake (40 000 ha) was proclaimed a national park in 1983. Its size of 391 km2 makes it the biggest lake on the Balkans Peninsula. It is widely famous for its richness of flora and fauna, with more than 100 very rare or endangered species.
With almost 1000 types of algae and several hundred bird species, among them, the pelican is a trademark of the National Park that makes Skadar Lake one of the most popular plant and animal habitats.
A boat ride during which your attention will be drawn to the rich cultural and religious heritage of Montenegro, a variety of flora and fauna, enjoy the tastes of traditional cuisine are just one part of all the beautiful sites arising before you in the National Park.
Additionally, you will visit a small fishing settlement Virpazar that offers peace and hospitality, although no more than a couple of hundred people are living there. There, you will get the opportunity to visit Visitor Center Vranjina, with a gallery, reliefs of all national parks of Montenegro and ethno room.
The trip starts at 7:30 am from Herceg Novi, we travel by ferry, passing one of the most visited harbours - Tivat and having a wonderful view of the Budva Riviera.
Before reaching the National Park, there is a 20-minute break in a restaurant just above St. Stefan.
Arrival in Virpazar around 10:00 am. A unique experience is certainly a cruise on lake Skadar, while the real attraction is swimming in the largest Lake area of the Balkans. During a boat ride that lasts 2 hours-2 hours and 30 minutes, you will enjoy a completely different world of flora and fauna, unique by world standards. Your attention will be drawn to the coastline of lake Skadar and its islands with the remains of a rich cultural and historical heritage.
After the boat ride, we will have lunch in a local restaurant, where you can choose between fish or meat menu.
After the lunch, we will visit the Visitor Center Vranjina with a gallery, reliefs of all national parks of Montenegro and many plant and animal exibits, characteristic for this area.
Return to Herceg Novi is planned around 5:00 pm.

If the tour is canceled by us due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule your tour.
